Robinson: Jalen Ramsey has mindset to bounce back

Jalen Ramsey's knee injury could cast a cloud over the optimism that had been shining bright in Jacksonville this offseason. Depending on the results of a second opinion on his meniscus tear, the rookie could be back by the start of training camp.

Jaguars receiver Allen Robinson told Sirius XM NFL Radio on Thursday that while he didn't see exactly what happened, he's confident Ramsey has the mentality to bounce back, regardless of the severity of the injury.

"I don't want to speak on his behalf or anything like that, but just kind of talking to him since he's been here, knowing the type of guy that he is I'm pretty sure he'll bounce back," Robinson said. "He's going to do everything in his power to bounce back and get back as fast as possible to help impact this team. Whenever you have the mindset that he has as a young player that's always beneficial. So, I mean, I'm pretty sure he's going to bounce back better than ever."

Robinson believes that Ramsey dealing with a non-career threatening injury early in his career could be beneficial for the rookie.

"It's just something that it's his first thing coming into the NFL," the receiver said. "It's so crazy because in college you may not have gone through any physical adversity at all, but getting into the NFL, once you kind of get that, being tested early, I think it will help him in the long run."

While we don't subscribe to the self-appointed Twitter Doctors currently spewing the notion that Ramsey's meniscus tear is minor and "no big deal" -- injuries to others are always less of a deal than when they are to oneself -- there is hope that Ramsey can bounce back before the start of the 2016 season.
