SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Nev. -- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo expects the NFL lockout to end soon and said Wednesday that he and his teammates will be ready to roll from the get-go.
"It'll be done here shortly," Romo said after playing a practice round with Charlotte Bobcats owner and former NBA great Michael Jordan at the American Century Celebrity Golf Challenge. "It's just a matter of doing things that you need to end it. The players are ready and anxious.

"The commitment level from each guy on our team ... it's exciting from my perspective. As the quarterback, that's what I wanted to see. The guys came out (to player-only workouts), and our team will be ready to go when this thing starts."
Romo, who missed most of last season with a broken collarbone, said he is completely healthy and, "It feels like I've been off for a long time. I've been working as hard as possible. Our team has done a great job doing the same."
Leadership issues have dogged Romo and the Cowboys as a whole. Though not speaking specifically about that subject, Romo addressed it by saying he spoke to each leader at every position group during the early phase of the lockout. He said he told them that if they weren't going to attend player-only workouts, or if their attendance was sporadic, then they might as well not move forward.
Veterans such as DeMarcus Ware, Jason Witten, Marc Colombo, Miles Austin, Terence Newman and Jay Ratliff made the commitment, and so did most of the Cowboys, Romo said.
"They were there every day," Romo said. "When (the group leader) is there, it's hard for the second, third, fourth and fifth guy not to."
