Ron Rivera will have to wait until next week to find out if the Carolina Panthers will be Super Bowl champions, but it appears he's already a hero in the eyes of his neighbors.
The Panthers head coach received quite the send-off Sunday as he began the first stage of a trek that will culminate with the team's arrival in San Francisco on Sunday afternoon.
Driving away from his home in Charlotte, North Carolina, Rivera recorded dozens of Panthers fans cheering for him on the side of the road. There's even a kid channeling his inner Cam Newton with a little roadside dabbing.
Still, fans weren't just content on giving Rivera an encouraging sendoff. Some even placed "Keep Pounding" and "Good Luck, Coach" lawn decorations in front of Rivera's house.
