ALBANY, N.Y. -- The New York Giants waived defensive end Robert Henderson, their sixth-round pick, and safety Nehemiah Warrick on Sunday and replaced them by signing Antonio Reynolds and Stuart Schweigert.
Henderson (ankle) and Warrick (knee) were injured in Thursday night's 13-10 preseason loss at the Detroit Lions. Henderson is the first draft pick by general manager Jerry Reese not to make the team. All eight of his 2007 picks made the team, and most contributed for the Super Bowl champions.
Schweigert, a third-round pick by Oakland in 2004, played 63 games with 42 starts in four seasons with the Raiders. Last year, he had 69 tackles and two interceptions in 15 games but was released in May. The Washington Redskins signed him in June, then released him Tuesday.
The Giants originally signed Reynolds as a rookie free agent out on Tennessee on May 6 before waiving him eight days later.
