TAMPA, Fla. -- Veteran running back Michael Bennett has re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The eighth-year pro carried the ball 41 times for 189 yards and one touchdown after being obtained from Kansas City in a trade last season. He also caught five passes for 54 yards and a TD.

A Pro Bowl selection in 2002 when he was with Minnesota, Bennett has rushed for 3,615 yards and 13 TDs in 89 career games with the Vikings, Chiefs and Bucs. He entered the league as a first-round draft pick in 2001.
