Thanks to a dominant defense and an overwhelming home field advantage, the Seattle Seahawks marched relatively unimpeded through the 2013 season en route to a Super Bowl blowout.
Despite the fantastic championship season, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson believes the team still has room for big improvements.
"There's a lot more ways we can be better," Wilson told ESPN.com. "And there's a lot more ways that I can get better. That's the great part about it. I continue to try to stay focused on what I can control and continue to grow in every way possible."
Wilson, 25, admitted he still has a long way to go in his own development. He certainly hasn't set the world on fire in his first two seasons. But, like some other players who were successful early in their careers -- Tom Brady always comes to mind -- he wasn't asked to dominate, either.
While in 2013 the Seahawks came out of the gate strong -- the team tallied four straight wins to open the season, with 11 wins in their first 12 games -- Wilson believes Seattle is in a better place now than this time last year.
"Right now I definitely believe we're way further ahead," Wilson said. "It's exciting. You have an itch because you know how to do it at a very high level. And the best part about it is we can continue to do it better."
