Ryan, other former Eagles greats to be honored at halftime

The Philadelphia Eagles teams of the late 1980s will be honored during halftime of the team's Monday night game against the Chicago Bears, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Former Eagles coach Buddy Ryan, defensive end Clyde Simmons, linebacker Seth Joyner, running back Keith Byers and tight end Keith Jackson will be among those recognized in the ceremony.

Ryan, the father of Jets coach Rex Ryan and Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, had a 43-35-1 record as Eagles coach from 1986-90.

The 80-year-old Ryan, who survived bouts with melanoma in 1968 and 1980, was recently diagnosed with another form of cancer.
