The Washington Redskins torched the New Orleans Saints last week, racking up 510 total yards of offense.
It was the last game for defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, who was fired Monday.
"They made my bye week turn into a bye-bye week," Ryan said Sunday on NFL Network's GameDay Morning.
"Really, their offense starts with the offensive line," Ryan said. "I think that was the most physical team we played against all year. I think every thing sets off their running game. They do an excellent job there."
Ryan's analysis must make general manager Scot McCloughan smile, as beefing up the offensive line was a priority this season -- including adding first-round pick Brandon Scherff.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins also drew praise from Ryan for his ability to manage the game, after the signal-caller put up 324 passing yards on his defense.
"Cousins did a nice job of managing the game and he had one big throw on us on third down and then everything else was dink-and-dunk. They did a good job doing that and I think that team is on the rise," Ryan said.
Many teams this year had their best games against Ryan's defense in New Orleans, which ranks last in the NFL in points per game and yards per game allowed.
Cousins won't have such an easy time Sunday against a stout Carolina Panthers defense that boasts Luke Kuechly and Josh Norman.
