New Orleans Saints kick returner Courtney Roby has been cleared by independent doctors to return to the playing field, coach Sean Payton said Monday via *The Times-Picayune*.
Roby was carted off the field during a Dec. 12 game against the St. Louis Rams after suffering a concussion. He spent that night in a New Orleans-area hospital.
When Roby returns to the field is up to the Saints' doctors, who must follow an NFL-mandated series of protocols to clear players who have sustained head injuries.
Payton also said tests were normal on the left knee of cornerback Jabari Greer, although his status for Monday night's game against the NFC South-leading Atlanta Falcons is uncertain.
