Saints starting CB Gay leaves game with a concussion

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans Saints starting cornerback Randall Gay had to be helped off the field early in the first quarter with a concussion in a win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Gay was pursuing Falcons running back Michael Turner when he took a heavy hit in a crowd of players near the line of scrimmage.

Turner broke loose for a 26-yard gain while Gay remained down on his hands and knees. He was not limping but appeared wobbly as two trainers helped him walk to the sideline and take a seat on the bench.

Second-year cornerback Usama Young replaced Gay.
