The fear that often accompanies two of a team's star players encasing themselves in bubble wrap for the duration of training camp is a legitimate one this time of year.
But if Saturday was any indication, Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray will be just fine. In fact, they might be great.
In his lone drive of the night, Bradford was a bit anxious -- his notorious fastball came in high and with plenty of juice -- but settled in nicely, connecting on 3 of 5 passes for 35 yards on a touchdown drive.
Murray carried the ball five times for a total of 17 yards. He capped his night with a two-yard touchdown.
Ryan Mathews, who looks like a fine companion to Murray, also pounded in a score.
But the spotlight was on Kelly's fragile acquisitions, who have the potential to be great, but also have the potential to break down early in the season.
At the moment, it's not hard to understand why he would shy away from playing them in extended preseason action. After tonight, though, it left us wanting more.
