IRVING, Texas -- Philadelphia tight end Matt Schobel left Sunday's game at Dallas after taking a shot to the helmet while trying to make a catch on the opening series of the game.
Schobel was taken to the locker room with what was called a head injury, and the Eagles said he would not return.
Starting right guard Shawn Andrews was out of the game because of a right knee injury. It wasn't clear when he was hurt, but Andrews hobbled to the locker room at the end of the first quarter and didn't return after halftime.
Schobel was hurt on a hit by Ken Hamlin. The Cowboys safety appeared to try to turn his shoulder when he jumped to hit Schobel, but their helmets made hard contact and both players went to the ground. After the players remained down momentarily, they walked off the field with help.
Hamlin returned to the game a couple of plays later, but Schobel went to the locker room.
Schobel, who played at nearby TCU, started in place of L.J. Smith, who was out with a knee injury.
