RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks signed wide receiver Brandon Jones on Sunday, one year after he landed a lucrative deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers hoped Jones could develop into one of quarterback Alex Smith's favorite targets after missing much of the 2009 season with a broken bone in his shoulder. But Jones played in eight games and finished with only one catch after the 49ers gave him a $16.6 million deal in free agency.
Jones was released by the 49ers on Wednesday.
