Seattle's hot-and-cold passing game has taken another hit.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told reporters Wednesday that tight end Zach Miller is headed to season-ending injured reserve with the ankle injury that has bothered him since late September.
The announcement comes as no surprise. Miller underwent a scope after Week 3 and is expected to undergo a second procedure, according to Carroll. The coach pointed to Luke Willson, Cooper Helfet and the recently signed Tony Moeaki as candidates to pick up the slack in Miller's absence.
Seattle's air attack is lacking the type of wideout who can take the top off a secondary. We'd argue the lack of a genuine playmaking tight end has been equally damaging for an offense that has passed for 200-plus yards just twice all year.
