The St. Louis Rams have lost another quarterback.
The team announced during the third quarter that Shaun Hill injured his thigh and he did not return. Third-year passer Austin Davis played the rest of the game for the Rams.
Hill was ineffective during a first half that saw the career backup complete 8 of 13 passes for 81 yards with an interception. Coach Jeff Fisher lit into the team after a first half from St. Louis that generated zero points while Hill struggled to sustain drives against Mike Zimmer's active Vikings defense.
After losing Sam Bradford, the Rams can hardly afford another long-term injury at the position. Hill's debut, though, raises all sorts of issues for a team fighting for relevance inside the rough-and-tumble NFC West.
