The Cincinnati Bengals are dealing with more injuries to their cornerbacks, and one is headed to injured reserve.
Shaun Prater, a 2012 fifth-round draft pick out of Iowa, suffered a knee injury that will land him on season-ending IR, a source with knowledge of his situation said Saturday.
Also, Brandon Ghee, a 2010 third-round draft pick out of Wake Forest, suffered a dislocated wrist following practice Saturday, and that could put him on the shelf for an extended period of time. Throw in the fractured knee that will keep 2012 first-round draft pick Dre Kirkpatrick out of training camp, and the Bengals have hit a run of bad luck at a key position.
Prater will undergo surgery to clean up his knee at a later date. The rehabilitation, centered around his patella, could take up to four months, but he's expected to be ready for the offseason conditioning program.
Ghee's timetable isn't clear -- he's already had surgery -- but a dislocated wrist would seem to end his preseason.
The Bengalscurrently have 10 cornerbacks on their roster, with veterans Terence Newman, Jason Allen, Leon Hall and Adam Jones the most experienced.
