Offensive lineman Sean Locklear has a deal in place to remain with the Seattle Seahawks.
League sources tell NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that the right tackle has taken a $2.2 million paycut in 2010 as part of a contract negotiation.
Locklear was set to make $5.425 million in 2010, but will now make $3.25 million. Locklear can earn a portion of the money back in incentives, but the renegotiated deal likely hastens the eventual departure of another veteran as the Seahawks overhaul their offensive line.
Russell Okung was taken with the sixth overall pick in the April draft and instantly inserted to take over at left tackle for the retired Walter Jones. Okung is out indefinitely after suffering a high ankle sprain in Seattle's second preseason game.
Locklear previously was signed through 2012, but his deal now expires after this season.
A third-round pick (84th overall) out of North Carolina State in 2004, Locklear entered the starting lineup in his second season, makings 51 starts at right tackle between 2005 and 2008.
