The Red Sox and Patriots have doled out some serious heartbreak to Bostonians of late. Luckily, the unrivaled romantic charm of Kevin Youkilis is about to change everything.
Youkilis -- the Red Sox third baseman alternately known as the "Greek God of Walks" and "That Bald Guy Who's Always on the DL" -- is engaged to Julie Brady, sister of the Pats quarterback.
The love missive comes courtesy of The Boston Globe, which reported Friday that the couple has been dating for "perhaps" a year. This will be Youkilis's second wedding, though the first marriage -- in 2008 -- was apparently never official. Julie Brady has a five-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
The item was on Boston.com's front page on Friday afternoon, a photo of Julie sitting above click-ins for "How to avoid Valentine's Day" and "Submit Valentine's Day horror stories."
Youkilis was seen on the field with the Brady family during the Patriots' Saturday team photo session prior to their Super Bowl XLVI loss to the Giants.
Of course, Youkilis already made his first error of the year. Had he held off on popping the question until Tuesday, the ring would've acted as an optimal Valentine's Day gift. Now he has to head back to the jewelry store. Brutal.
The Red Sox can't get anything right these days.
