South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier has already predicted that Gamecocks junior running back Mike Daviswill turn pro after the season if he has a quality 2014 campaign.
On Thursday, he took it a step further, saying that Davis himself has hinted that this could be his final college season.
Spurrier's comment on Thursday was about as wishy washy as it gets. It's possible that a somewhat slow start to the season for Davis, who has dealt with an injury to his ribs in the early going, has dampened Spurrier's enthusiasm for the running back. Davis has 24 carries for 116 yards and two touchdowns thus far.
This much is certain -- if Davis wants to put any doubts about his stock as a prospect to rest, he has the perfect opportunity to do so on Saturday, when his Gamecocks will face off against Georgia and RB Todd Gurley, who some scouts believe to be the best running back in college football, and by far.
