Concerned about their secondary's lack of depth for Sunday's AFC Wild Card Game in Denver, the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly turning to a familiar face to bolster their ranks.
Harrison: It's about to get wild
From the surprising Bengals and late-surging Giants to the playoff-tested Steelers and Saints, Elliot Harrison examines wild-card weekend. **More ...**
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Monday that 30-year-old Anthony Madison, who's spent parts of five season with the Steelers, will rejoin the team this week.
Pittsburgh lost cornerbacks Keenan Lewis and rookie Cortez Allen to injuries in last Sunday's win over Cleveland, and recently placed another cornerback, Curtis Brown, on injured reserve.
Further complicating things, safety Ryan Clark might not be available for the Steelers' wild-card game. Clark has a sickle cell trait that caused a violent reaction when he played in Denver's mile-high altitude in a 2007 game. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he'll meet with doctors this week before a decision is made about Clark's status.
Madison appeared in five games for the Detroit Lions this season.
