PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed seventh-round draft pick Toney Clemons to a four-year contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Steelers chose the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Clemons with the 231st overall pick to give the team needed depth at wide receiver.
Clemons, who is from a northern Pittsburgh suburb, had 43 receptions for 680 yards and eight touchdowns during his senior season at Colorado.
Pittsburgh is down to four wide receivers on the roster following the release of Hines Ward. Clemons will compete for a spot behind Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders and Jerricho Cotchery.
Wide receivers coach Scottie Montgomery says the Steelers like Clemons' size. He is now the tallest receiver on the team.
