PITTSBURGH -- The Steelers added depth to their front four Sunday as they signed veteran defensive end Orpheus Roye, the team announced. Financial terms of the one-year deal were not disclosed.
Roye was originally drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round of the 1996 NFL draft out of Florida State.
He spent his first four seasons with Pittsburgh before signing with the Cleveland Browns in 2000.
Roye played eight seasons with the Browns before being released in the offseason.
Roye has 18.5 career sacks to go along with 360 tackles. He will likely be a reserve for the Steelers behind starters Aaron Smith and Brett Keisel.
