The New York Jets have lost another skill player on offense.
Rookie wide receiver Stephen Hill is questionable to return after sustaining an apparent knee injury Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jones: Jets' biggest issue is Sanchez
The New York Jets are struggling this season for one reason only -- QB Mark Sanchez, Kimberly Jones writes. **More ...**
Hill was trying to pull down a Mark Sanchez pass early in the second quarter when his knee buckled after he appeared to slip on the wet EverBank Field turf. Hill repeatedly pounded the turf and reached at his knee as Jets trainers came to his side. Jaguars cornerback Derek Cox was flagged for pass interference on the play.
The Jets are left with very few weapons on offense. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes (foot) has been missing for weeks, and tight end Dustin Keller (ankle) is back on the shelf.
Hill broke training camp this season as the starter opposite Holmes. The Georgia Tech product had two touchdown receptions in his debut, but he has struggled with injuries and consistency in the weeks since. Hill's season is perhaps best remembered for a drop that could have sealed an upset Week 7 win over the New England Patriots.
The Jets selected Hill with the 43rd overall pick in April's draft.
