Stephen Jones says Cowboys sent CeeDee Lamb updated offer on Friday

Could the Dallas Cowboys and receiver CeeDee Lamb be getting closer to a long-term contract?

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones told NFL Network's Jane Slater on Saturday that Dallas sent Lamb a new offer on Friday. Jones added that conversations are good right now with the receiver and his agent as sides continue to work toward a new deal.

Lamb currently is holding out of training camp, but since he's on a rookie contract, the fines are waivable.

Slater reported earlier in the week that Lamb is working out in Houston as sides negotiate a new contract.

The star receiver is coming off a third consecutive Pro Bowl nod as he led the NFL with 135 catches and generated 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023. Lamb is essential for the Cowboys offense to function at a high level.

Lamb enters the fifth year of his rookie contract set to earn $17.991 million. When a new contract is eventually struck, his per-year average will likely come close to doubling that figure.
