Pro day results: North Carolina State, Syracuse, Toledo

Representatives from all 22 NFL teams were at North Carolina State on Monday to watch several players go through workouts. Among those at the indoors workout on FieldTurf were Jets defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers, Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards, Lions defensive backs coach Tony Oden, Bengals defensive backs coach Robert Livingston, Bengals running backs coach Kyle Caskey, and Eagles running backs coach Duce Staley.

» RB Matt Dayes (5-8 5/8, 205) stood on his combine numbers with the exception of the short shuttle (4.44 seconds) and three-cone drill (7.29 seconds. He went through a workout looked like he was favoring a hamstring.

» Safety Josh Jones (6-1 7/8, 222) ran a 4.32-second short shuttle, a 7.43-second three-cone, and stood on the rest of his combine numbers.

» CB Jack Tocho (6-0 1/4, 199) ran the 40 in 4.53 and 4.51 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.18 seconds, and the three-cone in 7.15 seconds.

Other notable pro days on Monday

SYRACUSE

Representatives from 16 NFL teams and two CFL teams were in attendance to watch 11 players work out indoors on FieldTurf.

» WR Amba Etta-Tawo (6-1 1/8, 203) ran the 40 in 4.38 and 4.47 seconds, had a 34.5-inch vertical, a 4.28-second short shuttle, and a 7.04-second three-cone.

» WR Brisly Estime (5-8 1/4, 186) ran the 40 in 4.50 and 4.45 seconds, had a 34.5-inch vertical, a 10-foot broad jump, a 4.29-second short shuttle, and a 7.13-second three-cone. He's a projected free agent.

TOLEDO

Representatives from 24 teams watched 11 players from Toledo and several others from smaller area schools work out indoors on FieldTurf. Among those in attendance were Lions coach Jim Caldwell and GM Bob Quinn.

» DT Treyvon Hester (6-2 3/4, 305) didn't do anything at the combine or his pro day because he's recovering from right shoulder surgery. He has a workout planned for April 13 in Toledo. He's a good-looking player.

» RB Kareem Hunt (5-10 5/8, 220) ran the 40 in 4.53 and 4.63 seconds, had a 4.53-second short shuttle, and a 7.22-second three-cone. He stood on the rest of his combine numbers.

» TE Michael Roberts (6-4 3/8, 274) ran the 40 in 4.99 and 4.94 seconds (slower than the 4.86 he ran at the combine), had a 4.22-second short shuttle, 21 bench lifts, and stood on the rest of his numbers from Indianapolis. He had a good workout.

» Lake Erie TE Anthony Kukwa (6-2, 231) ran the 40 in 4.62 and 4.63 seconds, had a 37-inch vertical, a 10-7 broad jump, a 4.39-second short shuttle, a 7.03-second three-cone, and added 27 strength lifts. He'll be signed to a free agent contract because of his long-snapping skill set.

» Notre Dame (Ohio) WR Mitchell Shegos (6-0, 203) ran the 40 in 4.60 and 4.61 seconds, had a 29-inch vertical, a 9-4 broad jump, a 4.19-second short shuttle, a 6.83-second three-cone, and 18 bench lifts. He's a projected free agent.

LOUISIANA-MONROE

Representatives from 16 teams watched 10 players ULM and four others from smaller area schools work out outdoors on FieldTurf. Two players emerged as free agant prospects.

» Safety Justin Backus (6-1 3/8, 189) ran the 40 in 4.86 (against the wind) and 4.78 (with) seconds, had a 29-inch vertical, a 9-5 broad jump, a 4.63-second short shuttle, a 7.01-second three-cone, and added just six strength lifts. His numbers aren't great but he was an ultra-productive player in college.

» Safety Tre Hunter (5-11 7/8, 191) ran the 40 on 4.75 (against) and 4.62 (with) seconds, had a 38-inch vertical, a 10-1 broad jump, a 4.46-second short shuttle, a 7.25-second three-cone, and 14 strength lifts.

GRAND VALLEY STATE

Three teams sent representatives to watch 10 players work out indoors on FieldTurf, and two players emerged as post-draft free agent candidates.

» Pass rusher Sydney Omameh (6-1 5/8, 236) ran the 40 in 4.58 and 4.61 seconds, had a 33-inch vertical, a 9-11 broad jump, a 4.37-second short shuttle, and a 7.22-second three-cone. He played defensive end in college but likely will be an outside linebacker if he makes it in the NFL.

» OLB David Talley (6-1, 236) ran the 40 in 4.50 and 4.52 seconds, had a 41-inch vertical, a 10-3 broad jump, a 4.39-second short shuttle, a 7.15-second three-cone, and added 23 bench reps.

BOWLING GREEN

Representatives from 11 teams watched 11 players work out indoors on FieldTurf.

» Long-snapper Greg Hohenstein (6-2 5/8, 225) ran the 40 in 4.95 and 4.97 seconds, had a 30-inch vertical, a 9-7 broad jump, a 4.57-second short shuttle, a 7.22-second three-cone, and added 18 strength lifts. A projected free agent, Hohenstein is a long-snapping prospect only.

NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL

Representatives from eight teams watched 12 players from Central and six others from area schools.

» WR Quentin Atkinson (6-0 3/8, 213) ran the 40 in 4.65 and 4.64 seconds, had a 36-inch vertical, a 9-10 broad jump, didn't run the shuttles, and added 18 strength lifts. He's a projected free agent.
