Unofficially, Terrell Suggs is the first player to drop out of the Pro Bowl. That's because he expects the Ravens to be busy preparing for Super Bowl XLVI the following week.
Suggs was selected to his fifth Pro Bowl on Tuesday, but moments after the official announcement let it be known he'd rather not be playing in Hawaii in late January.
"I have no intentions of playing in the Pro Bowl," Suggs said, per the Ravens. "I plan on being in practice with my teammates ... getting ready for the Super Bowl."
While that remains to be seen, a confident Suggs raises an interesting point. Now that the Pro Bowl is played the week before the Super Bowl, the teams with a major fingerprint on the AFC and NFC rosters could change the Pro Bowl landscape if their teams make it to the Super Bowl.
