TCU linebacker Joel Hasley has decided to stop playing football, becoming the second starter to leave the program in less than a week.
Hasley, a redshirt junior from Aldeo, Texas started 10 games last season and recorded 79 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss, second on the team in both categories.
Already holding a degree in communications and nearing completion of another in geology, Hasley "decided it was time to move on from football," TCU head coach Gary Patterson said in a statement.
Hasley's departure leaves converted safety Jonathan Anderson as the projected starter at middle linebacker in TCU's 4-2-5 defense.
Offensive tackle Tayo Fabuluje quit the team last week, citing personal reasons.
