'Tebowing' makes transition from Internet meme to race horse

In news that manages to be wholly predictable in spite of its complete randomness, there's now a horse named Tebowing.

Little Red Feather Racing, a leading thoroughbred racing partnership group based in California, has become so smitten by Tim Tebow that just rooting for the Broncos quarterback no longer was enough.

"We are so mesmerized by Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow and the latest craze 'Tebowing' that we decided to rename our Fusaichi Pegasus filly Tebowing," LRF Racing wrote on its website. "The original name 'Eye Pity Dafu' was denied by the Jockey Club for being phonetically similar to another horse's name."

Tebowing is a daughter of 2000 Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus. LRF Racing is accepting investors in the horse, with 5 percent coming off the initial share price if you include a photo of yourself Tebowing. We're dead serious.

No word if Tebowing races like its namesake -- performing like the worst horse in the field for the majority of the competition before improbably surging to glory.

"Tebowing took our breath away when we first saw her. She's long and leggy and powerful," explained Tom McCrocklin, executive bloodstock agent for LRF. "She had a fire in her eye and a bounce to her step."

Are we still talking about horses here?
