No matter how Johnny Manziel ultimately wound up on Cleveland's card, Teddy Bridgewater insists he's just glad it wasn't his name called by the Browns at No. 22.
"I actually told my agent that that's not the place where I wanted to be," Bridgewater told "The Dan Patrick Show" on Tuesday after the Minnesota Vikings jumped back into Round 1 to grab the former Louisville quarterback.

Bridgewater's retort comes one day after ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi reported that the draft card prepared to be given to Commissioner Roger Goodell originally had Bridgewater's name on it, only to be replaced with Manziel's with 10 seconds left on the clock at the urging of owner Jimmy Haslam.
Coach Mike Pettine called that yarn "beyond laughable," but it's another reminder that Bridgewater and Manziel will be judged against each other for years to come. Especially after pre-draft reports surfaced that the Browns ordered up an "expensive and thorough analytics study" that cited Bridgewater as having the "best success rate" of this year's prospects under center.
The Vikings ran a deep analytical study of their own, revealing to general manager Rick Spielman that Bridgewater was "the best against the blitz." That helped motivate Minnesota to hop back into the first round and grab a quarterback in Bridgewater who says he doesn't want to be anywhere else -- at least not Cleveland.
