Don't get your Matt Flynn jerseys out just yet out of the closet just yet, Raiders fans.
Oakland Raiders starting quarterback Terrelle Pryor was listed as questionable on the Week 4 injury report after increasing his workload at practice Friday, according to coach Dennis Allen.
"I like the progress I've seen," Allen said, adding that Pryor has made "significant progress."
Pryor has been cleared for play. Allen said the team will test him again Saturday just to be safe, but Pryor has passed all league-mandated tests. If Pryor checks out Saturday, he will play on Sunday, Allen confirmed. (Allen oddly wouldn't confirm that Pryor will start if he plays, but that seems obvious enough.)
"I feel 100 percent," Pryor said Friday, via CSN Bay Area. "The main thing is preparing and getting ready. (Flynn) had a lot more reps than me this week, but I'm going to study real hard, as if I'm going to start."
Either Allen is trying to mislead the public (unlikely), or Pryor is likely to start Sunday against the Washington Redskins. (Despite reports to the contrary this week.) Matt Flynn got the first-team reps in practice earlier this week, but the Raiders want to go with their guy.
It's been quite a transformation for Flynn and Pryor. A month ago, we assumed Flynn was the starter. Now the Raiders are doing everything possible to keep Flynn on the bench and Pryor in the lineup.
