The agent for the Houston Texans safety told KRIV-TV the NFL has fined his client $15,000 for an unnecessary-roughness penalty. Manning was flagged for punching Packers offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse, who fell on him in a pile.
The NFL has yet to officially announce the fine, but agent Russel Hicks said he received an email from the league Wednesday. Manning told Dale Robertson of the Houston Chronicle he plans to appeal the punishment. The seven-year veteran acknowledged he was fired up but later apologized to Newhouse.
"I was hating on him at that moment," Manning said, "but it's over. Things like that happen all the time in games."
