HOUSTON -- Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels has signed his restricted free agent tender.
He was extended a first- and third-round tender at $3.168 million.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Daniels sat out the team's just-completed organized team activities as he continues to recover from knee surgery. Daniels tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the eighth game last season.
Daniels is second in team history with 207 receptions and 2,501 receiving yards and third in touchdowns with 15 in 54 career games. Daniels was selected to the Pro Bowl after the 2008 season.
Also Friday, the Texans signed linebacker Darryl Sharpton, a fourth-round draft pick out of Miami.
