The Longest Day: Sunday marked NFL's lengthiest day of football at 15 hours, 27 minutes

NFL fans were treated to a marathon day of football Sunday.

At 15 hours, 27 minutes, Week 5 marked the longest day of NFL games since at least the 1970 merger, per NFL Research.

The day kicked off in London at 9:32 a.m. ET on Sunday with the Minnesota Vikings taking on the New York Jets. It concluded with a Dallas Cowboys win on Sunday Night Football in Pittsburgh, which ended at 12:59 a.m. ET will be on Monday morning after a protracted weather delay.

The lengthy day included comebacks galore, the first time in history we witnessed two 100+ yard defensive TDs on the same day, a field goal-block barrage, explosive plays, and offenses finally kicking into gear in month two.

With Week 6's Sunday also kicking off in London at 9:30 a.m. ET, when the Jaguars take on the Bears, perhaps next week could be another elongated football day.
