The NFL fined Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan and defensive end Jason Babin $5,000 apiece for unnecessary-roughness penalties in last weekend's victory against the New York Giants, the *Tennessean* reported Thursday.
Neither player is a stranger to writing checks to the league. It marked the second time in three games that Finnegan was fined (for a total of $10,000) and the third time Babin ($15,000 total) was docked this season.
Finnegan, who was penalized for tackling Giants wide receiver Steve Smith by his helmet, was defiant after learning of the latest fine.
"Nobody cares about fines," Finnegan said. "I don't care. It doesn't matter. I am going to keep playing the way I play, and if we keep getting a FedEx every week (with a fine notice from the NFL) and win football games, I could care less about getting a FedEx."
