Picking a starting quarterback can be a difficult proposition, but for the Tennessee Titans, choosing between Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker could come down to a simple "gut feeling."

Titans general manager Ruston Webster said that the team is keeping a close eye on the veteran Hasselbeck and the rising star Locker as they compete for the top job.
"It's very detailed," Webster told The Tennessean. "Stats are a part of it. But like I've said before, I'm not a huge stats guy.
"It will probably be a gut feel more than anything else. I think they'll both do well. But I think it will be a gut feel, so you kind of just go with what you feel is best -- (the player) who, in a tight race, we feel like has the best chance to help us win, even though we're comfortable with either one of them."
The 36-year-old Hasselbeck has 13 years of experience in the league. He started 16 games for Tennessee last season, completing 319 passes for 3,571 yards and 18 touchdowns with 14 interceptions.
Locker, fresh off his rookie season, has only appeared in five games, but he completed 34 passes for 542 yards and four touchdowns with no picks. Hasselbeck does have the edge in completion percentage at 61.6 percent compared to Locker's 51.5 percent, but that might not matter.
"Like I said, you'll have a gut feeling," Webster said.
