Finally a moment of peace in Detroit, where the young Lions have turned out more than enough drama this offseason.
Louis Delmas and Titus Young were seen together at a celebrity softball game Saturday, just weeks after a skirmish between the two led to Young's weeklong absence from the Detroit Lions' facility.
"That's my boy," Delmas, a safety, told the Detroit Free Press. "Me and him are like best friends now at the end of the day."
Young, a second-year wideout, reportedly "sucker-punched" Delmas during Detroit's first OTA session in May. The receiver told reporters on Monday he and Delmas were "cool" upon Young's return to the team.
"I guess I'll say right now this is like the honeymoon, getting back on the right track," Young told the newspaper last week. "I am very excited about being on the football field, but I hope this excitement leads my whole team to be excited. I don't want to be the only one excited, I want everybody else in this locker room to be excited, not just about me being back but about this opportunity we have going forth in this season."
Young has been impressive in workouts, according to multiple reports. The Lions would have preferred the Young-Delmas altercation to remain in-house, away from public scrutiny. Too late, Detroit. Having both players return to the field and focus on football is the team's next best option.
