When the Saints surprisingly traded awayJimmy Graham last week, New Orleans faithful were left wondering if their team's Super Bowl window was closing.
When two-time Pro Bowl guardBen Grubbs and promising young wideoutKenny Stills were also dealt, it appeared the Saints might be initiating a rebuilding process.
That's not the case, insists owner Tom Benson.
"We're just trying to get better," Benson said earlier in the week, via The Advocate. "We want to win another Super Bowl."
Benson added that the Saints are "looking forward to being in the playoffs."
This is an organization re-establishing its identity with an offense leaning on a potentially explosive backfield tandem of Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller and a defense that will be rebuilt via five selections in the top 80 picks of next month's draft.
The Super Bowl might be a pipe dream this season, but there's no reason to believe the retooled Saints can't reach Benson's goal of a return to the playoffs in a wide open NFC South.
