NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that the Seattle Seahawks have signed the ninth-year defensive tackle to a two-year contract with a maximum value of $6.3 million, according to a source.
In his first season with the Seahawks in 2013, McDaniel started in 15 games and played 536 snaps for a defense that employed him as an early-down run-stuffer. After piling up 53 tackles and two sacks, he'll continue to see plenty of time alongside fellow tackle Brandon Mebane in Seattle's base defense.
The 6-foot-7, 305-pound McDaniel also hit the Dallas Cowboys' radar as a potential free-agent signing, but after years of losing in Jacksonville and Miami, he's sticking with a team poised to make a run at back-to-back Super Bowl appearances.
