Trevor Siemian took the next step in his return to game-action.
As planned, the Denver Broncos quarterback practiced in limited fashion Thursday. The Broncos held a walkthrough on Wednesday in which Siemian participated. Thursday he took snaps as he progresses toward a return for Sunday's game in Tennessee.
Siemian missed Denver's Week 13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a foot injury. The quarterback ditched a walking boot over the weekend.
The Broncos hope the second-year quarterback can return to the lineup after missing just one game. Rookie Paxton Lynch threw for just 104 yards in his second career start last week and appears at least a year away from being the answer for John Elway's team.
Siemian displayed vast improvement in his past three games prior to suffering the injury behind a porous offensive line. Once coach Gary Kubiak unshackled the seventh-round quarterback, Siemian showed a willingness to stretch the field, solid accuracy and good arm strength. He threw two-plus touchdowns in his past three starts.
Denver sits one game up for the final Wild Card spot in the AFC with games at Tennessee, versus the Patriots, at Kansas City and home versus the Raiders remaining.
