Trey Hendrickson submitted a trade request late last month, but that's not keeping the Cincinnati Bengals pass rusher away from work.
The team posted a video on Monday showing Hendrickson doing individual drills with teammates during voluntary offseason workouts.
Given the trade request and the voluntary nature of this stage of the offseason, it's notable that Hendrickson decided to show up on the field. He could easily skip this portion of workouts without repercussions or at least decline to do on-field drills. Instead, everything looks normal in Southwest Ohio.
The 29-year-old is set to make $14.8 million in 2024 and $15.8 million in 2025. Seeking a new contract, Hendrickson requested a trade last month. The team immediately rejected the idea of moving on from the critical pass rusher.
Last year, the Bengals gave him a pay boost in the form of a one-year extension that included an $8 million signing bonus and increased his 2023 deal by $5 million.
It's unclear how the club and player will settle their differences this time around, but apparently things aren't in a bad enough place to keep Hendrickson from workouts altogether.
