Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner (groin) and rookie wide receiver Julio Jones (hamstring) missed practice for a second straight day Thursday, clouding their statuses for Sunday's game at Houston.
Turner would leave a quite a void for the Falcons, as he is the NFL's fourth-leading rusher with 948 yards and eight touchdowns on 219 carries.
Jones, who has 30 catches for 498 yards and two touchdowns, has already missed three games this season with hamstring issues. He returned to action last week, but failed to record a reception in a 24-14 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Meanwhile, cornerback Brent Grimes underwent surgery to repair his right knee Thursday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. No timetable was set for his return but players with similar surgeries usually miss two to three weeks, the newspaper said.
Grimes had continued to play despite suffering the injury Oct. 23 against Detroit.
