Ohio State could use a few more offensive playmakers, and true freshman Dontre Wilson is showing signs he can be a big-play guy.

High 5: Most explosive

You knew a certain South Carolina DE would be on there, but who else made Daniel Jeremiah's list of college football's most explosive players? **More ...**

Wilson (5-feet-10, 174 pounds) was a running back at DeSoto (Texas) High, where he was a consensus national top-100 recruit. He committed to Oregon, then re-opened his recruiting when Chip Kelly left for the Philadelphia Eagles and ended up signing with the Buckeyes. He'll likely end up playing in the slot at Ohio State and be used in a similar fashion to how Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer used Percy Harvin at Florida. (Like Harvin, Wilson will wear No. 1.)

Teammates had raved about Wilson's speed during summer workouts, and Meyer definitely is a believer.

"He's got something that we didn't have, and that's just electric speed," Meyer told reporters about Wilson. "... He's got jets."
