Veteran RB Portis scheduled for Tuesday tryout with Titans

Former Pro Bowl running back Clinton Portis is among the players scheduled to work out for the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday, according to a league source.

Portis, 30, had played in just 13 games over the last two seasons because of injuries -- a severe concussion in 2009 and a torn groin muscle in 2010. He already has visited the Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins after being released by the Washington Redskins in February.

Portis played in just five games in 2010 before the groin injury ended his season. He rushed for a career-low 227 yards on 54 carries with two touchdowns. His best season in Washington was 2005, when he set a franchise single-season rushing record (1,516 yards) and led the team to its first playoff berth in six seasons.
