There's not a whole lot to be learned from Pro Bowls, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had to feel pretty good Sunday night in the NFC's 62-35 victory in the Pro Bowl. The Bucs sent three players to Hawaii and all three had signature moments during the game.
Wide receiver Vincent Jackson caught six balls for 91 yards and two touchdowns. He and Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green (three touchdowns) were the only non-quarterbacks to score multiple touchdowns.
Running back Doug Martin caught a touchdown pass from Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson that was intended for Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph. He finished with three catches for 40 yards and three rushes for eight yards.
Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy also presented the Bucs well by recovering a fumble.
Regardless of their Pro Bowl play, their inclusion shows the front office has made good decisions of late. McCoy was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and Martin was the second of two first-round picks in 2012. McCoy was a clear choice, but Martin wasn't a sure thing. The club signed Jackson as a free agent prior to the season. Prior to McCoy and Martin, the Bucs only drafted one Pro Bowler (guard Davin Joseph) since 2000.
Not a bad day for Tampa Bay.
