New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker is expected to play, but he will test his ankle before Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, NFL.com's Albert Breer reported.

Welker was listed as questionable this week, but there weren't any real doubts about his availability. He and tight end Rob Gronkowski could be in for big days against an Colts team with a shaky secondary.

Welker has 66 receptions for 810 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
