New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker's unofficial bachelor party made an uninvited stop a party, resulting in a near-brawl with security guards and threats of arrest.
According to the New York Post, Welker and group of his friends were celebrating the Pro Bowl receiver's upcoming nuptials last Friday night in Aspen, Colo., when they attempted to enter "Summerology", a party sponsored by Patron at the Above the Salt restaurant. Security "tackled" the group, which nearly touched off a brawl as 5-foot-9, 185-pound Welker needed to be "physically restrained" before being kicked off the property.
The incident didn't dampen his weekend, as Welker was frequently tweeting from the 30th annual Aspen Food & Wine Classic on Saturday and Sunday. Welker is also looking forward to his wedding this upcoming weekend.
"Getting married in 6 days and so fired up about the reception..... Oh yeah, and marrying the most beautiful girl in the world!", Welker wrote on Monday night.
