The Seattle Seahawks' home field will get a name change on Thursday, seattlepi.com reported Monday.
Qwest Field, also home to MLS' Sounders, officially will be renamed and rebranded CenturyLink Field for the company that purchased Qwest earlier this year. The stadium opened in 2002 as Seahawks Stadium.
"Although the name of this facility will change; the history, tradition and spirit of the 12th Man and the Sounders FC supporters will never change," Seahawks, Sounders and FGI President Peter McLoughlin said.
Qwest Communications paid $75 million for 15 years for the naming rights in 2004.
