A look at the nation's top 10 college prospects and where they committed to sign, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings, which aggregate the rankings of the four major recruiting services.
1. RB Leonard Fournette (6-foot-1, 226 pounds) of New Orleans St. Augustine High signed with LSU over Alabama. Frequently compared to Adrian Peterson, he is expected to step into a Tigers offensive backfield vacated by two early NFL draft entries.

2. DE Myles Garrett (6-4, 240) of Arlington (Texas) James Martin High chose Texas A&M in October without much hesitation. He figures to make a quick impact on an Aggies defense that was, in a word, pitiful last season.

3. ATH Jabrill Peppers (6-1, 205) of Paramus (N.J.) Catholic High chose Michigan in May and is considered the gem of the Wolverines' 2014 signing class. He can play running back or safety. And no, he's not related to NFL star Julius Peppers.

4. OL Cameron Robinson (6-7, 335) of West Monroe (La.) High signed with Alabama over LSU. Considered the nation's top offensive lineman, Robinson will get the chance to compete for the left tackle spot vacated by the early exit of Cyrus Kouandjio to the NFL.

5. DE Da'Shawn Hand (6-4, 265) of Woodbridge (Va.) High signed with Alabama over Florida and Michigan. Hand is an explosive pass rusher who will be a nice fit in the 'Jack' linebacker position that former 'Bama star Courtney Upshaw once occupied. NFL Media analyst Charles Davis featured Hand in this highlight video.
6. DB Quin Blanding (6-2, 200) of Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside High chose home-state Virginia nearly a year ago. Fearless as a run stopper, Blanding figures to give the Cavaliers the much-needed presence of a big hitter in the secondary.

7. CB Adoree' Jackson (5-9, 182) of Gardena (Cal.) Junipero Serra High is the only member of the top 10 to sign with Southern Cal. He was the only member of the top 10 who entered national signing day undecided -- he made his announcement live on TV around 2:05 p.m. ET. Jackson may be the best cover man in the nation, but he indicated the Trojans may want him to play some offense, as well.

8. WR Speedy Noil (5-10, 175) of New Orleans Edna Karr High chose Texas A&M over LSU, and has already signed and enrolled at Texas A&M to participate in spring practice. His Twitter photo of his new Texas A&M locker assigned with Johnny Manziel's jersey number sparked some discussion about whether Manziel's jersey should be retired. He'll be an explosive fit in Kevin Sumlin's fast-paced offense.

9. CB Tony Brown (6-0, 188) of Beaumont (Texas) Ozen chose Alabama over LSU, and has already signed and enrolled at UA for spring practice. Brown gives the Tide an elite recruit as perhaps its biggest position of need, with senior Deion Belue moving on and a cast of unproven players rotating at the other cornerback spot. Brown's college career is not off to the kind of start Nick Saban hoped to see, though. He was arrested last month on charges of failure to obey and resisting arrest.

10. QB Kyle Allen (6-3, 185) of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain chose Texas A&M and, like Noil, is already enrolled. Allen enters a wide open quarterback competition left available by Johnny Manziel's decision to leave behind two years of college eligibility for the NFL. His competition will be exciting sophomore Kenny Hill, who possesses the best running skills of the three, and senior Matt Joeckel, who started the season opener against Rice while Manziel served a suspension for the first half.
