Workers at Arrowhead don't want to be left out in the cold

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Ticket takers and parking attendants for the Kansas City Chiefs are complaining that the team is about to take away one of the only benefits of their jobs: watching the games.

The workers say that after they finish their duties they have been allowed to stay and watch the games at Arrowhead Stadium from a standing-only area. But Steve Warner, a Chiefs ticket-taker for 13 years, told Fox4 on Wednesday that the team told them that would not be the case this year.

"We were told that when we work and we are done, we are to clock out and leave the premises," said Warner. "That's when everybody was very, very, very upset, knowing that. When we go and work hard at the gates and knowing that it's hot outside or freezing in January, even during the season, you get your benefit of going and watching the game."

The workers are represented by the Service Employees International Union, which met with the team on Wednesday to discuss the change.

A statement from the Chiefs said: "We're working to develop policies and practices that provide the best possible experience for our fans; and fair and appropriate compensation and benefits for our employees. We met with the union representative today for the first time on this issue and had a productive conversation. We look forward to continuing our conversation."
