Finally, something to reinvigorate the offseason and get us ready for football: a spitball fight between Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger.
Remember when Watt made fun of Mettenberger's penchant for selfies?
You probably thought that blood feud was buried deep, right? Well think again.
In a recent interview with CampusSports.net, Mettenberger said he's not the one who is high school-ish for taking selfies. It's actually Watt who is high school-ish.
Feeling the heat yet? Read on ...
"J.J. had to say it's a bit high school-ish that I take selfies and I think he still rags me on Instagram every time he posts a selfie," Mettenberger said on Tuesday, via The Houston Chronicle. "At the same time, if that's high school-ish, he got a letterman jacket made, a Texans letterman jacket. That's pretty high school-ish to me, don't you think?"
Watt responded early Wednesday morning with this Napoleon Dynamite-style return serve.
"A lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of a sheep. Time to attack the day."
At this point, I think there's a leaguewide conspiracy to deprive us of more Mettenberger. He's fantastic in every way, though he may need to keep an eye out now. Watt has been lurking all offseason, eager to blast well-meaning stage crashers or unsuspecting hockey pucks.
